The easiest way to install the trading platform is download the ready-made package from the official website. Install the platform similarly to any other application – drag the platform icon to Applications and wait for the installation to complete.
The trading platform for Mac OS supports the Apple M1 chip and works reliably on any system version including Big Sur.
The installation package is compiled using CrossOver technology. This platform is based on Wine, but unlike other projects and Wine itself, CrossOver is a commercial product. Therefore, its development is much faster: the environment is optimized for better performance of Windows applications, while detected errors are quickly fixed. In contrast to 'pure' Wine, CrossOver has more specialized nature as it is aimed at supporting the most popular office and other Windows applications. Compatibility with these applications is extensively tested and debugged, so they tend to run more stable than in Wine. The trading platform is among these applications.
You do not need to have CrossOver on your computer to install the platform from the ready-made DMG package. Accordingly, its use is absolutely free. You do not need to download any additional components or make any complex adjustments. The platform is immediately ready to go after being installed from the package.
When installing the platform on Mac OS Catalina and older OS versions, open the DMG file via the context menu instead of double-clicking. Older versions of operating systems cannot verify the package developer and display a relevant warning. For the Open button to appear in this dialog, the package must be launched via the context menu. |

Cabos Editor's Review
Cabos is a Gnutella P2P network file sharing application based on LimeWire and Acquisition.Unlike LimeWire, or its clone, FrostWire, Cabos has a quite fast user interface. It has less glitches, while it maintains a decent level of usability.
The interface is pretty well structured. There is a sidebar and a main area. The sidebar provides a text input area where you can type your search queries. At the bottom of this text input, the application places all the search queries, so you can do multiple searches at the same time. At the bottom of the sidebar there's the network status, the download, and the upload status.
The main area of the interface displays the files founded by the search, the files that are currently in the download list, and the active uploads. Depending on the file type, the application provides you some extra information besides the file size, such as bit-rate, or tag information if it's an audio/video file, or the network availability.
The 'Preferences' panel is also structured very well. It provides functionality like: search customization, appearance customization, download options, iTunes import for the downloaded audio files, sharing options, network options, or advanced features customization.
The search functionality works quite well. The download availability and speed depends on the network peers though.
Pluses: it is quite easy to use, faster than other Gnutella applications, it integrates well with Mac OS X. It's also completely free, so there isn't any 'Pro' version.
Drawbacks / flaws: slow interface speed in certain cases, but still much faster than the original application.
In conclusion: if you are a LimeWire/FrostWire user, maybe this application can be a useful replacement for any of those two.
